This 45-degree O-ring style chrome thermostat housing (water neck) is specifically designed for early Chevrolet V8 engines built between 1955 and 1965. Perfect for restorations, hot rods and performance builds, it combines classic looks with modern sealing technology. The O-ring style design ensures a leak-free seal, while the extra-thick 12mm base resists warping. The angled 45-degree outlet improves radiator hose alignment on classic Chevy applications.

Supplied with the GASO Peak Performance high flow thermostat (GPP-3894), a 54mm conventional flat thermostat that opens at 82°C (180°F). It is built in copper and brass and designed to resist the coolant pressure changes that can affect conventional thermostats at high RPM, so it opens consistently in street, drag racing and oval track use. It interchanges with Mr. Gasket 4364 and Aeroflow AF49-1044.

Fitment

1955-1965 Chevrolet small block and big block V8 using the standard 54mm thermostat. Please confirm your housing outlet angle, thermostat diameter and cooling system design before ordering.

This kit uses a conventional 54mm thermostat with no bypass foot. It will not suit Ford Cleveland V8 engines, which need an extended-foot bypass thermostat such as the Dayco DT66A.
