Fuel Pumps

Mechanical fuel pumps for carburetted SBC, Ford Windsor and Cleveland engines, rated 6 PSI and up to 80 GPH for engines to around 400 HP, plus solid-state micro electric pumps in 2-4 and 4-7 PSI ranges for carburettor use. Marine options also available. Match pump pressure to your carburettor needle and seat, and confirm cam drive type for mechanical pumps.

Match the pump to the way your engine is set up. Mechanical pumps mount on the engine and need the correct cam drive, with engine specific castings for SBC, Windsor and Cleveland; the 6 PSI 80 GPH units here suit carburetted street engines to around 400 HP. The solid-state micro electric pumps suit carburettor pressures only: choose 2-4 PSI for low pressure needle and seat setups, or 4-7 PSI where the carb sits further from the tank. Running pressure above what your needle and seat can hold causes flooding, so add a regulator if in doubt, and mount electric pumps low and close to the tank as they push fuel better than they pull.
