Heavy duty bars use a 50mm square hitch receiver and suit vehicles towing at or near their maximum braked rating; check the towbar rating against your vehicle's rated towing capacity and use the lower of the two. Kits vary, with some including tow ball, ball mount and wiring: direct fit harnesses plug into the vehicle loom, while universal kits suit vehicles without towing-ready electronics. Light truck bars with hitch under or centre configurations may require welding, so check the installation notes.
